New BOBST VISION for newly integrated CBS Packaging

West Bromwich based CBS Packaging has placed an order for a new BOBST VISION 160 die-cutter. The machine will help the company cope with increased demand for its paper and board products and will be installed into its new factory, which now houses a BHS corrugator. Jitha Singh, Managing Director of CBS, said, “We have seen the demand for die-cut boxes increase every year. To make sure that we could keep up with this growth we needed to invest in a highly productive machine that would deliver the quality we are known for. Having looked at the market we decided that the BOBST was the only machine that would deliver what we wanted”.

The VISION 160 offers high quality flat-bed die-cutting on materials ranging from nano and micro-flutes to double-wall and litho-laminated. The press achieves running speeds of up to 4,500 sheets per hour, with make-ready in under 10 minutes. With the continued growth of the business, CBS Packaging has outgrown its former production facilities and has recently moved into new, 160,000 square foot premises where it has installed a BHS corrugator, so making the company a fully integrated corrugated packaging producer. Jitha Singh said, “As a company, we have a long-term vision of where we want to go and having a fully integrated plant means that we can compete at all levels in the market, as well as having the flexibility to provide fast turnaround of orders”. Ken Stolber, UK Sales Manager for BOBST corrugated equipment said, “The VISION 160 is the ideal machine for plants that need to get access to the high quality die-cutting that case makers can’t achieve. This investment is part of the continuing development of CBS Packaging and we are happy that we are able to contribute to it”. The new VISION 160 for CBS Packaging will be delivered in November.
